Film review – The Other Woman (12A)

“No, you can’t have my husband and my brother, that’s just being greedy!”

Carly Whitten (played by Cameron Diaz), is a lawyer known to her friends for ‘playing the field’ with no desire to settle for just one boyfriend!  However when she meets Mark King (played by Nikolaj Coster-Waldau), she believes she has finally met her ‘Mr Right’!  She is stunned when she discovers the man of her dreams is actually already married.

After some persistence on the part of Mark’s wife Kate (played by Leslie Mann), the wife and mistress become friends and decide to plot their revenge!

Although this may sound like the easiest way to review a film – what you see in the trailer is what you get.  If the trailer appeals to you, it’s likely you’ll enjoy the film.  However, in an attempt to be slightly more analytical, it’s a well written comedy, with some very funny scenes and the three main actresses  gel together beautifully.  It’s light-hearted, fun and packed with ‘girl power’!  If you want a laugh with your mates this is one to watch.
